BBQ in the wild
Picture this, a backyard family BBQ with people coming and going when they feel…just move it to the Wildlife Sanctuary and add some vows – and that’s what our “style” is!
- 5-7:00PM // Welcome! The buffet will run throughout the night, but let’s start with dinner!
- 7:30(ish) // At some point we will meander outside to make it official
- 8:00(ish) // Eat, drink, dance
- 10:30PM // Last call
- 11:00PM // Party’s over – thanks for celebrating with us!

We do's
Our ceremony will be short and sweet.
We invite you to take a short walk with us outside to witness our commitment to each other around sunset.
It’ll be so quick we are not having seating for this part. If it rains we will grab an umbrella!
Natural beauty
We hope our guests feel comfortable throughout the party. One of the reasons we picked this venue was for the trails and natural space to escape in if needed…so if you need a little break and head to the trails, maybe I’ll see you there! 🙂
The grounds are open to the public from 8AM-730PM. Feel free to wander before or during the party. We have a picnic area behind the Nature Center booked as well for some fresh air.
CAUTION: There are geese and turkeys loitering the area (and pooping!), so please be mindful when walking around and choosing your shoes.
Come as you are
Shoes, shirts, and probably pants.
(Or some kind of bottoms!)
Wear whatever brings you joy.
This is not a formal event…jeans, shorts, dress, skirts, shirt/tank- whatever you want!
Keep in mind that if you decide to walk the trails, there will be goose poop.
Be Present
We’ve already had some questions about a registry – there isn’t one.
We just want to spend this moment with you!
If you would like to give a gift of money, please donate to Happily Ever After’s Hour of Love (July 20-22).
If you gift us money, we will spend it foolishly on our honeymoon to Banff & Jasper. 🙂
RULES
Bet you never would have guessed this – but there will be wildlife all around us!
This means the entire sanctuary is smoke-free (buildings, parking lots, trails…all of it).
Glassware is not allowed onsite.
This one makes Steph’s heart happy: no glitter, candles, balloons, flowers, etc allowed.
Parking
There are three different parking areas. Follow signs to the Nature Center for the closet lot to the venue (Dick Resch). Parking by the Observation Building is a short walk across a floating bridge, and parking right off the entrance would be a little longer hike.
